Removing Books from Distribution
How to unpublish or delete your books.
Unpublishing Your Book
- Go to My Shelf
- Click on the book you want to unpublish
- Navigate to Distribution tab
- Uncheck all distribution channels
- Click Save
What Happens
- Your book is removed from stores within 24-48 hours
- Readers who already purchased can still access their copies
- Your book remains in your Shelf (not deleted)
- You can republish anytime by re-enabling distribution
Deleting Your Book
- First unpublish the book (remove from all stores)
- Wait 48 hours for delisting to complete
- Contact support to request permanent deletion
Warning: Deleting a book is permanent and cannot be undone. All sales history will be preserved for tax purposes, but the book files and metadata will be removed from your account.
Reasons to Unpublish
- Major content revisions needed
- Rights reversion (moving to exclusive contract)
- Rebranding or republishing under new name
- Seasonal availability
